Business Development

Our large scale developments seek, through partnership with private enterprise, to build up the supply chain in a given country to retain more value of their natural resources. Examples of these include petroleum refining, steel production, and fertilizer production (from natural gas). These project initiatives will complement the capacity building from infrastructure initiatives done in partnership with governmental entities. Wherever, whenever possible The OPIS Foundation will use local expertise, labor and material for our project initiative.

Smaller scale initiatives will develop family farms and small businesses. (Examples of these can be seen in our aquaculture and biodiesel initiative in Sierra Leone.)

In both cases, the Key to our approach is a "virtuous circle" of work leading to skills leading to enterprise.

The broad area of economic and business development encompasses the following sub-categories:

  • Job creation
  • Microlending
  • On the Job Training and Integral Education
  • Growing Small Business
